The Wheaton College Department of Athletics takes the term
"student-athlete" to heart. In addition to the school's renowned
athletic reputation, Lyons routinely earn academic honors that
range from conference accolades to prestigious scholarships,
including Carolyn Wills '05
being named a Rhodes Scholar in 2005. Since the 1980s, Wheaton
has annually lauded student-athletes with the Linda Frances Epstein
'82 Award and the Caroline Cutler Metcalf Leadership
Award.
In 2011, Wheaton College was among Newsweek/The Daily Beast's list of 'America's 25 Brainiac Schools.' U.S. News & World Report, meanwhile, ranked Wheaton College No. 62 on its list of National Liberal Arts Colleges.
