Kathy DiSilvestri begins her tenth
year at Wheaton and seventh as associate athletic trainer in
2012-13. After serving three years as the assistant athletic
trainer, DiSilvestri was promoted to her current position in
2006.
DiSilvestri came to Wheaton after spending a year at South County
Physical Therapy in Auburn. In addition to serving as a physical
therapy aide at South County, she assumed duties as the athletic
trainer at Shrewsbury High School.
At South County, DiSilvestri collaborated on development and
implementation of the agility, strength and conditioning program
and the ACL prevention program. At Shrewsbury High, she was
responsible for documentation of injuries and rehabilitation,
managing the athletic training supply budget and coordinating
training coverage for athletic contests.
Prior to South County, DiSilvestri served as a customer service
representative for Byram Healthcare in Worcester. She was also
involved in customer service at Collins Surgical in nearby Brockton
from 2000-02.
DiSilvestri started her work in athletic training at Bridgewater
State College, where she served as a student athletic trainer. At
Bridgewater State, she worked with several varsity teams, including
clinical rotations with baseball, men's soccer, softball, women's
track & field and wrestling.
DiSilvestri is a 2001 graduate of Bridgewater State, earning a
bachelor's degree in physical education with a concentration in
athletic training. Serving as one of Bridgewater State's student
athletic trainers from 1998-2001, she also had off-site rotations
at Durfee and Stoughton high schools.
