Facility facts:
Permanent metal bleachers line midfield along the far side of the
competition-quality sod field, while traditional blue chain-link
fencing surrounds the playing area, with 20-foot net screens
behind each goal frame. The field is complemented by team bench and
scoring table seating shelters, a six-foot wooden fence stretching
behind the team benches, and an electronic scoreboard.
History:
Trustee Harry V. Keefe made possible the renovation of the soccer
field south of the Meadows complex in memory of his first wife,
Jean Mulcahy Keefe '44, and in honor of her class's 45th reunion in
1989. The field was dedicated in September 1988. A generous gift
provided by women's lacrosse parents Tom and Jeri Konig led
to additional renovations, with the upgraded facility being
rededicated on September 30, 2006.
