Goodwin-Boyd Named to NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Zach Goodwin-Boyd was named to the 2017 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Baseball All-Sportsmanship Team as announced by the league office on Monday.

New to the conference this year, the NEWMAC has established an All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2016-17 Academic Year. The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.

The Lyons ended the season with a share of the NEWMAC Regular Season Championship after concluding the year with a 23-14 overall record and 12-5 standing in the NEWMAC. Goodwin-Boyd played in all 37 of the Lyons contests this season, finishing the year with a .329 batting average, hitting a team-high five home runs and six triples, while registering 35 RBIs, 26 runs scored and one stolen base. The senior outfielders six triples ranks him second in the NEWMAC.
