Frank Holbrook '13 enters his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Wheaton College baseball program in 2016-2017. Holbrook is responsible for the development of all pitchers on the staff and serves as the programs Recruiting Coordinator.
A 2013 Wheaton graduate with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, Holbrook ranked inside the top-10 in several pitching categories for the Lyons including first overall in earned run average (ERA) at 2.32. Holbrook also ranks second in wins (26), is tied for third in innings pitched (255.2) and tied for fourth in shutouts (3), sixth in complete games (6) and ninth in strikeouts (134). In 2012, Holbrook posted a 10-0 record and a 1.38 ERA both school records in a single season.
Over his four-year career in a Wheaton uniform, Holbrook helped the Lyons to a 139-45 record, four New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season titles and tournament championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances and a second place finish in the 2012 College World Series.
Holbrook also hauled in several individual awards including two NEIBA All-New England second team selections, one NEIBA All-New England third team honor, a D3baseball.com All-New England second team nod, one D3baseball.com All-New England third team selection and three NEWMAC All-Conference first team honors. In 2013, Holbrook received the Chad Yowell Athlete Award as Wheaton male athlete of the year.
In 2013, Holbrook served as an assistant coach with the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) after pitching for the Gulls in 2012.
