THE RUNDOWN:  

  • After a scoreless first-half of action, Wesleyan (Conn.) took a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute with a goal by Tess Iannorone. 
  • The Cardinal made it 2-0 less than a minute later, before taking a 3-0 lead in the 51st minute. 
  • Wheaton found the back of the net in the 62nd minute when senior captain Kelsey Buckley netted her team-leading ninth goal of the season. The score came after a pass from co-captain Katie Peters, who fired the ball over to Buckley, who one-timed it into the back of the net. 
  • Riley Thompson picked up the complete game loss for the Lyons, after giving up three goals, while making 14 saves.
