Cederberg and Landers to play in NEILA East-West Senior All-Star game

NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College men's lacrosse attackers Ben Cederberg (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) and Chris Landers (Manchester, Mass./Proctor Academy) will play in this Sunday's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West Senior All-Star game at Endicott College beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Marking the first Wheaton selections since 2008, the Lyons have placed two players in the game four of the last six years.  Suiting up for the East squad, Cederberg and Landers, who were two of Wheaton's five captains this past spring, will compete against players from NCAA Division I, II and III programs.

Named to the Pilgrim League All-Conference first team, Cederberg amassed a career-best and a team-high 43 goals.  He also added nine assists for 52 points, as his point total was good for second on the squad.  Cederberg, who notched at least one point in all 14 games, added four man-up tallies.  He totaled at least three points nine times, including scoring a career-best seven goals and recording a career-high-tying eight points against Massachusetts Maritime Academy.  In the regular season finale at Clark University, Cederberg hit the 200-point career milestone.

A Pilgrim League All-Conference second teamer, Landers was second on the squad with 31 goals and 15 assists.  His six man-up tallies paced the Lyons, while his 46 points stood third overall.  Landers came away with a minimum of one point in all 14 games, tallying at least three points on 10 different occasions.  Scooping up 26 ground balls to lead attackmen, his top game was a four-goal, two-assist performance at Babson College during the regular season.

Cederberg and Landers, who during their careers helped lead the Blue and White to three Pilgrim League Tournament title games and one Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament appearance, left Wheaton as two of the most prolific offensive players in school history.  Cederberg and Landers rank second (201) and sixth (181), respectively, in career points.  Cederberg stands second in assists (81) and is tied for fourth in goals (120), while Landers ranks third in goals (128) and ninth in helpers (53).

Qualifying for its fourth straight league tournament semifinal round, Wheaton finished 2-3 in conference play while going 3-11 overall.
