Ferreiro one of two NEWMAC players to draw ECAC All-Star accolades

NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College men's soccer senior David Ferriero (Medway, Mass./Medway) drew his first Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star honor, as he was one of two New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) players occupying 12 spots.

One of five defenders selected, Ferriero anchored a unit that recorded eight shutouts, notched a 0.96 goals against average and surrendered one tally or fewer 14 times.  Offensively, he scored in consecutive games against Keene State College and Western New England College.

The Lyons advanced to the NEWMAC Tournament championship game for the ninth time in the league's 13-year history.  Tied for 10th in the final National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) regional poll, Wheaton went 11-6-3 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.
