Swanson, Mena honored by NSCAA
NORTON, Mass. – Wheaton College men's soccer senior Pablo Mena (San Salvador, El Salvador/American School of El Salvador) and junior Max Swanson (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) have been named to the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar East All-Region Team.
Mena is an economics and international relations major and management minor. Swanson, meanwhile, is a history major and an economics minor. Earlier this season, both were named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Academic Team, Mena for the third time and Swanson for the second.
On the field, Mena tallied four points (1-2-4) in 18 matches this season while Swanson placed fourth on the team in scoring with 15 points (6-3-15). The Lyons finished the season 9-8-2 and advanced to semifinals of the NEWMAC Tournament.
A total of 29 student-athletes from 18 institutions were recognized by the NSCAA.
