NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College men's swimming & diving freshman Charlie Maier (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) was selected New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Week for the second time in four weeks for the week ending on Sunday, February 6.
Maier, who is now the program record holder in four dives, broke two school standards at the two-day Wheaton Invitational over the weekend. On Friday, he notched a program-record 395.45 points during the 11-dive competition off the three-meter platform. Maier surpassed the old one-meter mark for 11 dives on Saturday with 393.80 points. He placed second in each.
Wheaton is off from competition for nearly three weeks, when the Lyons head to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the three-day NEWMAC Championship beginning on Friday, February 25.
