NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College sophomore Daniel Sharon (Santa Monica, Calif./Brentwood School) has been named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Tennis Second Team (No. 3 singles).
Sharon finished his sophomore campaign with an overall singles mark of 12-4 - including a 3-2 record in conference play. He registered wins over Zach O'Leary of Springfield (6-1, 6-1), Zach Goodstein of Clark (6-2, 7-6), and Brian Oldfield of nationally ranked and conference champion MIT (2-6, 6-4, 10-8). During a stretch of matches from April 4 through April 22, Sharon won seven of eight singles matches.
This is the first all-conference honor for Sharon. Last season, the Lyons had five student-athletes recognized on the team: Neall Oliver (First Team, No. 1 singles), Gregory Poulin (First Team, No. 3 singles), Harry Altman (Second Team, No. 3 doubles), Dennis Scarpa (Second Team, No. 6 singles), and Ned Terrace (Second Team, No. 3 doubles).
