White Earns NEWMAC Men’s Tennis Singles Player Of The Week Honors

Freshman went 3-0 at No.2 singles on the week

NORTON, Mass. – Wheaton College freshman Will White (Nantucket, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) has collected New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week honors, it was announced by the league office yesterday.

White went undefeated at No. 2 singles to lead the Lyons to a 3-0 week overall and 1-0 mark in NEWMAC play. White battled back from a 2-6 deficit versus Coast Guard to win the deciding singles game of the match in a 5-4 victory over the Bears. White also defeated Endicott junior Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) by a 6-4, 6-1 decision and turned away Colby-Sawyer sophomore Justin Pinard (Essex, Vt./Essex), 6-2, 6-3, last Sunday.

On the season, White is 10-8 overall including a 6-1 mark at No.2 singles play. White and freshman Jonah Feit (Los Angeles, Calif./Milken Community) have combined for an 8-7 record overall and 8-6 mark at No.1 doubles.

Wheaton (10-5) wraps up its regular season schedule against Nichols College on Thursday, April 25 at 4 p.m.
