THE RUNDOWN:  

  • Wheaton earned both of its points in doubles play, starting with a hard fought 9-7 win at the No. 2 spot from Jorge Aguirre Martinez and Ned Roosevelt
  • Jeremiah Ryser and Javier Esteban de Celis earned the teams other point with a solid 8-5 defeat of Tom Hackett and Adam Bahney in the No. 1 position.   
  • Aguirre Martinez fought Hackett in singles, taking the opening set of the No. 1 match 6-4, before going on to fall 6-4 and 10-2. 
  • Zach Strempel took Jack Phillips to three sets in No. 5 singles, falling 6-2 in the opening set before bouncing back to take the second 6-1. In the deciding set, Strempel could not overcome Phillips, falling 6-1.
