Miklovich, Ketchum help Lyons place 13th at Joe Donahue Collegiate Indoor Games
BOSTON, Mass. - Sophomores Ashante Little (Seabrook, N.H./Winnacunnet) and Mollie Lane (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) each recorded first-place finishes to help the Wheaton College women's indoor track & field team to a sixth-place finish (out of 14) at the Joe Donahue Collegiate Indoor Games Friday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center. The men's indoor track & field team placed 13th (out of 16).
Little won the 400m dash (57.84) while Lane captured first-place in the high jump (5' 4 1/4"). Senior Didine Jusme (Providence, R.I./Classical) recorded a pair of top 10 finishes in the 55m hurdles (4th, 8.39) and the 200m dash (25.85). Classmate Tope Waheed (East Providence, R.I/ East Providence) placed fourth in the weight throw (51-11.75).
Senior Ashley Dell'Aira (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham) took second in the triple jump (38' 4 1/4") and sixth in the long jump (17' 5 1/2"). Other top 10 finishers included seniors Lauren Cardarelli (Cranston, R.I./La Salle) in the 400m dash (6th, 59.96) and Mickey Jusme (Providence, R.I./Classical) in the triple jump (10th, 34' 8 1/4").
Junior Ben Miklovich (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) was the highest finisher for the men's squad as he placed second in the 200m dash (22.75). Senior Miles Ketchum (South Lee, Mass./Monumental Regional) was the Lyons other top 10 finisher, placing fifth in the 500m dash (1:06.35).
The Lyons return to action on Friday when they travel to Armory, N.Y. to compete in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
