GAME ONE: Wheaton 0 - No. 21 Tufts 4

LOCATION: Norton, Mass. (Clark Softball Field) 

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • Wheaton's lone hit came from first-year Allicyn Cole in the bottom of the sixth with a single to right field. 
  • First-year Jessica Nardozza reached base twice courtesy of two walks.
  • Senior Allison Cox pitched a complete game for Wheaton giving up just six hits to the top-25 team, striking out three, while walking nobody.

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • Emily Schlapak ended the game 2-for-2 with a walk, while knocking in both runs with a home run in the second inning. 
  • Cox got the start, pitching 4.2 innings, while Jade Assad finished out the game.
  • After falling behind 4-0, Wheaton cut the deficit in half with Schlapak's two-run home run to right center that drove in Assad. Assad led off the inning with a single to right.
