Women's Basketball to Start the Season With CWP '95 Benefit Game

NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's basketball team will tip-off he 2017-2018 season Wednesday, Nov. 15 with a tip-off game against Thomas (ME) at 6 p.m. in the teams 6th Annual Cheryl Warren-Powers '95 game.

Warren-Powers, who passed away on May 22, 2012, was a standout athlete in basketball and softball at Bishop Feehan High School becoming the second female athlete to score 1,000 career points for the Shamrocks. She went on to play both sports at Wheaton and, upon graduating, continued to be an avid supporter of each program. As a coach, Cheryl impacted many including the student-athletes she was involved with on the Lyons' softball team and the girls' basketball program at Foxboro High School.

The Lyons will be charging $5 admission for the game, while also selling water and pizza ($5) with all proceeds going to support Cheryl's twins, Jordan and Craig. Donations will also be accepted to benefit the Little Angels of Warren-Powers Memorial Fund.
