Courtney Ruggles begins her first year as a member of the Wheaton College women’s basketball coaching staff in 2011-12.
Currently an area coordinator in the Office of Residential Life at Wheaton, Ruggles has made previous coaching stops at the University of Rochester (2004-08) and the United States Naval Academy (2008-10). Ruggles then relocated to Annapolis, MD in 2008 and helped lead Navy to a 33-29 mark over two seasons.
A four-year letterwinner at Bowdoin College, Ruggles helped the Polar Bears capture four NESCAC Championships and advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2001, the Elite Eight in 2002 and 2003, and the Final Four in 2004. She finished her career with a record of 103-14 and helped Bowdoin spend 40 weeks ranked in the Top 10 nationally – including six-straight weeks at No. 1 in 2003-04.
Ruggles graduated from Bowdoin in 2004, where she earned her bachelor of arts in psychology and minored in history. She went on to earn her master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Rochester in 2008.
