NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College women's soccer senior Emily Hough (Norwich, Vt./Hanover) was named New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, October 31.
Helping Wheaton wrap up the regular season with a fourth consecutive win while earning the weekly award for the second time in her career, Hough continued her late-year scoring spree with three goals during the Lyons' 2-0 week, which included a game-winning tally.
Hough scored twice during Wednesday's 3-0 non-conference triumph over Salem State University, notching the winning goal in the 38th minute. Recording four points on Senior Day, Hough moved into sole possession of fifth place on the program's all-time points list with 119.
On Saturday at league foe United States Coast Guard Academy, Hough tallied the team's second goal during a 3-0 shutout. She raised her season totals to nine goals, six assists and 24 points, as her six helpers pace the team while her 24 points are tied for the squad lead.
Ranked seventh in New England by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), Wheaton is 15-3-2 overall while finishing 6-3 in league play, good for fourth. The Lyons host fifth seed Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Tuesday's first round at 1:30 p.m.
