NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Freshman Lauren Corigliano (Roselle Park, N.J./Roselle Park) recorded a goal and an assist in Wheaton College's 5-0 win at Smith College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Juniors Tara Caney (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) and Samantha Bennett (Weymouth, Mass./Weymouth) each scored their first goals of the season for the Lyons, who improved to 12-2-3 (6-1-1 NEWMAC) on the season and 10-1-2 in their last 13 matches. The loss drops the Pioneers to 2-11-0 (1-7-0 NEWMAC).
Sophomore Joy-Marie Fernandes (Woburn, Mass./Northfield Mount Hermon School) opened the scoring 91 seconds into the match with her fifth goal of the season.
