Mawicke, Vincunas, Muse garner ECAC honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Wheaton College women's soccer seniors Kaitlyn Mawicke (Trumbull, Conn.) and Emily Vincunas (Granville, Mass./Wilbraham & Monson Academy), along with junior Cassey Muse (Candia, N.H./Central), have been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Soccer All Stars. Mawicke was named to the First Team while Muse and Vincunas were named to the Second Team.

A First Team All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America Third Team selection, Mawicke led the conference in assists (eight) and finished third in points (20). She also scored eight goals – two of which were game-winners – and garnered a spot on the New England Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Association (NEWISA) Division III Second Team.

Vincunas was also a First Team All-NEWMAC selection after recording 12 points (3-6-12) in 23 matches. She capped her career having appeared in 93 matches, which is tied for seventh in program history. Following the season, Vincunas earned NSCAA All-New England First Team honors.

Muse finished her junior campaign with a team-leading 23 points (9-5-23) - including eight points (3-2-8) in nine conference matches. She netted the game-winning goal in a key 2-0 win over MIT which helped secure the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Muse also scored two goals in a win at Mount Holyoke and picked up assists against WPI and Coast Guard. For her efforts, she was named to the NEWMAC First Team.

The Lyons finished the 2011 season with a 16-4-3 record and appeared in their 12th consecutive NCAA Tournament. They were ranked No. 25 in the final poll.
