NORTON, MA- Wheaton College women's swimming & diving sophomore Julia Wright (Pomfret, VT/Northfield Mount Hermon School) repeated as New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Week, earning the accolade for the week ending on Sunday, January 17. In addition to the honor being her second in as many weeks, Wright drew the third accolade of her career.
With her second NCAA Championship provisional standard in the one-meter dive in as many meets, Wright qualified for the national meet during Wheaton's double-dual-meet split at Connecticut College on Saturday. The Lyons defeated Trinity College by a 211-89 count while dropping a 189-109 decision to the hosts. Sweeping the one- and three-meter fields, Wright notched scores of 262.14 and 249.15, respectively, upping her season win total to 11.
With a 6-4 mark, Wheaton is off until Saturday, when the Lyons welcome NEWMAC foe Babson College to Balfour Natatorium at 1:00 p.m.
