Piscetta honored as NEWMAC Swimmer of the Week for first time

NORTON, MA- Wheaton College women's swimming & diving junior Dania Piscetta (Belmont, NH/Belmont) was selected New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimmer of the Week for the first time in her career for the week ending on Sunday, November 1, as she combined to win six events during the Blue and White's 3-0 week.

During Wednesday's 175.5-121.5 victory at Roger Williams University, Piscetta topped the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley competitions, finishing in 2:18.74 and 2:18.20, respectively.  She then played a hand in four wins during Saturday's double-dual sweep of Brandeis University and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

Contributing to Wheaton's 179-107 victory over Brandeis and 207-86 triumph against WPI, Piscetta touched first in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle races and the 200-yard individual medley while also swimming a leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay.  She posted times of 55.17 and 2:02.25 in the 100 and 200 free events, respectively, before notching a time of 2:13.72 in the 200 IM.  The 200-yard medley relay foursome finished in 1:55.65.

The Lyons are back in action on Saturday for the Charlie Batterman Relays at conference opponent Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at 1:00 p.m.
