NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College women's swimming & diving senior Dania Piscetta (Belmont, N.H./Belmont) was selected New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimmer of the Week during the league's first announcement of weekly awards for the 2010-11 season, as she was named for the week ending on Sunday, October 31.
Earning the award for the third time, Piscetta led the Lyons with three event wins during Saturday's season-opening 178-120 victory over Roger Williams University, topping the 50-yard butterfly field in 26.84 and the 200-yard backstroke group in 2:18.86. Her 50 fly time was 0.10 ticks off her school record. Piscetta also swam a leg on the victorious 400-yard medley relay team that finished in 4:15.40 while playing a part in Wheaton's second-place 200-yard freestyle relay quartet.
The Lyons return to action on Saturday when they host the Charlie Batterman Relays at 1:00 p.m.
