NORTON, Mass. - Five Wheaton College women's swimming & diving athletes garnered New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference accolades for the winter of 2010-11.
Student-athletes receiving the award must maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better upon completion of the 2010 fall semester, attain at least a sophomore year standing and be a competing member of a varsity team for the entire season.
Five athletes represented the women's swimming & diving team for the third consecutive season, as the program has produced at least three academic all-conference honorees for nine straight years.
Seniors Kathleen Dwyer (Barrington, R.I./Barrington), Sara Hollar (La Crescenta, Calif./Flintridge Prep) and Stephany Perkins (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) earned the award for the third time each. Junior diver Alexandra Wilson (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) drew her second laurel, while senior Dania Piscetta (Belmont, N.H./Belmont) posted her first honor.
The five helped Wheaton to an 8-5 record in dual meets and place fourth out of 10 teams at the NEWMAC Championship.
Winter sports sponsored by the NEWMAC include men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's swimming & diving.
