NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College women's swimming seniors Dania Piscetta (Belmont, N.H./Belmont) and Nicole Zais (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) will make a return to the NCAA Championship for the second time in three years, as the duo is slated to compete at the Jones Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee from March 23-26.
Looking to earn All-America honors in an individual event for the first time, Piscetta and Zais formed half of the 200-yard freestyle relay team in 2009 that earned All-America honorable mention accolades. That relay marked the first All-America laurels in program history.
Zais enters the meet with the nation's fifth-fastest time in the 200-yard breaststroke, while Piscetta's qualifying event came in the 50-yard freestyle, where she is currently seeded 19th. Zais will also compete in the 50-yard free and 100-yard breast events, while Piscetta will take part in the 100-yard butterfly and free races.
Trials each day are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., followed by the evening finals at 6:00 p.m. The pair will swim the 50-yard free on Wednesday. Piscetta will compete in the 100-yard fly on Thursday, Zais is slated to swim the 100-yard breast on Friday, and each will wrap up the weekend with one event apiece on Saturday. Piscetta hits the pool for the 100-yard free, while Zais will enter the 200-yard breast race.
