Woods, Isaacs record first-place finishes on day one of Wheaton Invitational
NORTON, Mass. - Senior Christian Woods (Claremont, Calif./Webb School of California) and junior Caroline Isaacs (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) both placed first in their events to highlight day one of the Wheaton Invitational Friday evening at Balfour Natatorium.
Woods completed the 1,650-yard free with a time of 17:41.77 while Isaacs posted a time of 11:15.42 in the 1,000 free. Senior Spencer Deans (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) was second behind Woods in the event while sophomore Alisha Keezer (Biddeford Pool, Maine/Kennebunk) placed third in the 1,000 free.
In the 400-yard free relay, the men's team of sophomores Emerson Jenkins (Kansas City, Mo./Pembroke Hill School) and Kyle Wilson (Cumberland, Maine/Greenly) and freshmen Nick Fredette (Stoneham, Mass./Stoneham) and Richard Jenkins (Bow, B.H./Bow) placed third.
The women's 400-yard free relay team of senior Taryn Brosnan (Westford, Mass./Archbishop of Notre Dame), sophomores Nina Lanctot (Chatham, Mass.) and Adrianne Madden (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth), and freshman Callie Renfrew (Vacaville, Calif./Webb School of California) also placed third.
Day two of competition at the Wheaton Invitational between the Lyons, Tufts University, MIT and Clark University begins at noon.
