Women's Swimming Defeats Brandeis in Season Opener

LOCATION: Balfour Natatorium (Norton, Mass.)

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • Wheaton opened the season with a 191-104 defeat of Brandeis. 
  • The Lyons took first in the 200 yard medley relay, while Brandeis took the 400 yard freestyle relay. 
  • Wheaton earned four of the top six spots in the 200 yard freestyle, the 100 yard backstroke and four of the top five spots in the 200 yard butterfly. 
  • Maddy Morrison captured first place in both the 1 meter and three meter diving events. Jenna Hayden did the same in the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly. 
  • Brandeis claimed some first place finishes as well, as Talia Bornstein claimed ownership of the 500 and 1000 yard freestyles. 
  • Lydia Dacorte helped Wheaton gain some traction, earning first in both the 200 yard butterfly and 100 yard IM. 
  • Others winning events for Wheaton include Eva Pet, Aleza Epstein, Maggie Lawler, Elizabeth Bernardy and Chloe Deubner
