Women's Tennis Edges Simmons; Honors Senior Day

NORTON, Mass. - Senior Michelle Trainor was recognized by the Wheaton College women's tennis team for her dedication to the College and program on Saturday for Senior Day as the Lyons defeated Simmons College, 8-1, in a non-conference match.

Wheaton swept doubles competition with wins from No. 1 sophomore Ines de Bracamonte and first-year Isabelle Garvanne (8-2), No. 2 first-year Harley Swainston and sophomore Connor O'Keefe (8-1) and No. 3 Trainor and sophomore Olivia Donovan (8-2).

The Lyons didn't slow down momentum in singles action with more nods from No. 1 de Bracamonte (6-0, 6-1), No. 2 Garvanne (6-0, 6-1), No. 3 O'Keefe (6-4, 6-1), No. 4 Swainston (6-2, 6-1), No. 5 Trainor (6-1, 6-0) to seal the 8-1 victory.

Wheaton travels to Bates College on Friday, April 21 with match time slated for 4 p.m.
