Women's 4x400M relay qualifies for nationals at BU's Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, MA- The Wheaton College women's indoor track & field team saw its 4x400-meter relay team post an NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time during Friday's non-scoring Valentine Invitational at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

Comprised of junior Laurenmaria Smith (Providence, RI/Hope), sophomores Lauren Cardarelli (Cranston, RI/La Salle Academy) and Didine Jusme (Providence, RI/Classical), and freshman Samantha Bennett (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth), the quartet notched a seventh-place time of 3:54.52, just 0.58 seconds out of fourth.

Cardarelli nearly reached a national meet provisional mark in the 400-meter dash, as her time of 58.38 was 0.14 seconds short.

Wheaton returns to action next Sunday for the USA Track & Field (USATF) New England Championship at Harvard University.
