NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Wheaton College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the 30th Yale Intercollegiate Track Classic Saturday afternoon.
Senior Didine Jusme (Providence, R.I./Classical) picked up the Lyons only first-place finish of the afternoon as she won the 60m hurdles (8.90). Senior Ashley Dell'Aira (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham) was second in the triple jump (37' 8 1/2") and sixth in the long jump (16' 7 3/4") while sophomore Mollie Lane (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) took third in the high jump (5'3").
Fresh off a record-setting performance in the 600m run last week, sophomore Ashante Little (Seabrook, N.H./Winnacunnet) placed sixth in the 400m dash (59.05). In the weight throw, senior Tope Waheed (East Providence, R.I./East Providence) finished fourth (50' 2 3/4") while junior Sylvia Okoye (Stanhope, N.J./Pope John XXIII) finished seventh (43' 1 1/2"). Okoye also took ninth in the shot put (34' 5 1/2 ").
On the men's side, senior Miles Ketchum (South Lee, Mass./Monumental Regional) recorded the only top 10 finish, finishing eighth in the 400m dash (51.05). Junior Ben Miklovich (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) placed 11th in the 60m dash (7.24).
The Lyons return to action next Saturday when they travel to Springfield to compete at the Springfield Invitational.
