Wheaton competes at New Balance Collegiate Invitational
ARMORY, N.Y. – The Wheaton College men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the 2012 New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore Mollie Lane (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) posted the highest finish for the Lyons as she placed 14th in the high jump (eastern). Senior Tope Waheed (East Providence, R.I./East Providence) and junior Sylvia Okoye (Stanhope, N.J./Pope John XXIII) finished 60th and 66th in the weight throw championship, respectively.
Sophomore Meredith Scannell (San Marino, Calif./San Marino) took 62nd in the 800m run while junior Amanda Claflin (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) was 65th in the long jump and 82nd in the 60m dash. The Lyons 4x400m relay team finished 22nd.
On the men's side, senior Miles Ketchum (South Lee, Mass./Monumental Regional) placed 31st in the 500m dash while junior Karl Mader (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) was 40th in the 1,000m run.
Wheaton returns to action next weekend at the Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
