Fontaine Moves up National List at NEICAAA New England Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's track & field team wrapped up the NEICAAA New England Outdoor Championships hosted by Williams College Saturday afternoon.

Junior Raevyn Fontaine set a new personal best in the 100m high hurdles on Friday with a 14.52 finish in the prelims, which moves her to 11th in the nation in the event. Overall Fontaine finished in seventh place on Saturday. Jessica Barros joined Fontaine in the 100m high hurdles prelims.

Wheaton's 4x100m relay team of Kalah Thomas, Emily Gustavson, Fontaine and Briana Gausland earned All-New England honors after finishing in fifth place with a final time of 48.26.

Gustavson took home an 11th place finish in the 400m dash after finishing just off her season best. Gausland also competed in the 100m dash on Friday, before running the final leg of the 4x100m relay. 

Cathryn MacGregor competed in the javelin throw for the Lyons, finishing with a distance of 117-09 (35.89m), while Abby Epplett took part in the 400m hurdles. 

Wheaton returns to the track on Thursday, May 18 with the MIT Last Chance Qualifier.
