Gustavson and Fontaine Qualify for NCAA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Wheaton College women's track & field team ended its 2017 regular season with the MIT Last Chance Qualifier Thursday evening, with a handful of Lyons still looking for their spot at the NCAA Division III Women's Track & Field Outdoor Championships. 

Senior Emily Gustavson ended the night with a new personal best in the 400m (56.32), which moved her to 20th on the NCAA list, officially qualifying her for the NCAA championships. Gustavson will also compete in the 200m at nationals after ending the year ranked ninth in all of DIII in the event. 

Gustavson will be joined at nationals by Raevyn Fontaine. The junior finished second in the 100m hurdles with a new personal best (14.47), which moved her to 13th on the NCAA list. 

Sophomore Cathryn MacGregor was close to setting a two-meter PR in the javelin (40.02m/131'3), taking home fourth place in the event, while ending the year 29th on the NCAA list. 

Abby Epplett finished fourth in the 400m hurdles, as did the 4x100 relay team (Kalah Thomas, Gustavson, Fontaine, Briana Gausland.)

Gustavson and Fontaine will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships May 25-27 hosted by Mount Union College. For more information: HERE
