NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Wheaton College women's track & field team had four athletes, Abby Epplett, Cathryn MacGregor, Briana Gausland, and Kalah Thomas earn United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors during the 2016-2017 season.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- Competed in a NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
- Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
Epplett ended the 2017 outdoor season ranked 48th in the nation in the 400m hurdles, after finishing the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships in 1:03.66.
MacGregor earned her academic honors after throwing her way to 30th in the nation in the javelin with a distance of 131'3" (40.02m) at the MIT Division III Final Qualifier in May.
Gausland and Thomas were both a part of the Wheaton 4x400 team that ended the indoor season ranked 48th in the nation and the 4x100 outdoor team that concluded the season with the 26th best relay time.
