BOSTON, Mass. - Junior co-captain Christina Cannon (Milford, N.H./Milford) registered five kills in Wheaton College's 3-0 loss at Emmanuel College in non-conference women's volleyball action Thursday night at the Jean Yawkey Center.
Sophomores Lindsay Tebbetts (Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford) and Rachel Vergara (Needham, Mass./Needham) added four kills apiece for the Lyons, who dropped game one 25-17, game two 25-9, and game three 25-11.
Senior co-captain Emily Davisson (Carpinteria, Calif./Laguna Blanca School) posted a team-high 10 digs for Wheaton while Cannon added seven. Junior Olanna Nissim (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) handed out 15 assists and notched five digs.
For the Saints (19-13), senior Rebecca Stanton (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) tallied a match-high 12 kills (.706 hitting pct.). Classmate Jenna Ross (Centerburg, Ohio/Centerburg) added seven kills, junior Yun-Ting Lee (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge Rindge & Latin) posted 12 digs, and senior Kathryne Olsen (Fairhaven, Mass./Fairhaven) dished out 17 assists.
The Lyons (4-26) wrap up the 2011 season with a 1 p.m. match with New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Springfield. Prior to the match, Wheaton will honor its lone senior, Emily Davisson. The Saints host a tri-match with Mount Ida (12 p.m.) and Emerson (4 p.m.) on Saturday.
