Davisson registers 23 digs in 3-0 loss to nationally-ranked Springfield

NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College senior co-captain Emily Davisson (Carpinteria, Calif./Laguna Blanca School) registered 23 digs in her final collegiate match, a 3-0 loss to nationally-ranked Springfield College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball action Saturday afternoon at Emerson Gymnasium.

 Junior co-captain Christina Cannon (Milford, N.H./Milford) tallied a team-high seven kills for the Lyons (4-27, 0-8 NEWMAC), which dropped game one 25-17, game two 25-15, and game three 25-16. The Pride - ranked 20th in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) national poll - improve to 29-2 overall and 8-1 in the NEWMAC.

Junior Lindsay Tebbetts (Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford) notched five kills for Wheaton, which also received four kills from sophomore Marguerite Copeland (Woodbridge, Va./Oldfields School) and two from classmate Kara-Jane Walker (Needham, Mass./Needham). Junior Olanna Nissim (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) dished out 19 assists. Tebbetts added a pair of blocks while Cannon notched four digs.
