SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Wheaton College women's volleyball senior Emily Davisson (Carpinteria, Calif./Laguna Blanca School) has earned 2011 New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Honorable Mention accolades recognizing her New England collegiate volleyball career.
A three-time New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Academic selection, Davisson served as a team captain this year for the Lyons and first-year head coach Craig Letourneau. She finished fourth in the NEWMAC in digs (4.42/game) and eighth in service aces (0.44/game) this season. Davisson will graduate in May fifth all-time in digs (1,776) and sixth in sets played (460) in program history.
"Emily deserves any and every recognition she gets," said Letourneau. "She was an all-tournament selection in all three of the tournaments Wheaton played in this year. She was a great player and great leader. I wish that the program had her around for a couple of more years."
Davisson was one of eight NEWMAC student-athletes recognized by the NEWVA. Click HERE to view the complete NEWVA release.
