Martin enters her fourth year as the Director of Athletics Communications at Wheaton College in 2018-19. Martin handles all aspects of athletics communications for Wheaton’s 21 varsity programs.
Martin comes to Norton, Mass. from Lewis & Clark College where she played a similar role by heading all of the publications and media relations needs in the 19 varsity programs there. She introduced video streaming and highlighting and oversaw office administration and student workers. Martin also maintained the athletics’ social media outlets, website development and maintenance and game management.
Before working at Lewis & Clark, Martin served as the Assistant Director for Athletics Media Relations at Division I Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. During her time there she served as the full-time contact for seven of the school’s fourteen athletic programs. Martin assisted in all aspects of the Athletics Media Relations office with direct sport responsibility for women’s basketball, men’s soccer, softball, women’s lacrosse, field hockey, along with men’s and women’s tennis. She assisted in the management of the athletics website, handled media inquiries, coordinated interviews, promoted home events, produced sport media guides and other publications, assisted with game management activities, and managed the supervision of student employees.
Prior to Longwood she worked at the University of North Florida (UNF) in Jacksonville for three years as both a full-time staff assistant as well as an undergraduate student assistant in sports information.
She was the primary contact for women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s and women’s track and field. In addition to her game operations experience, she also produced media guides for her assigned sports, supervised and managed student assistants and interns, while also organizing and assisting with daily operations as well as various special projects for UNF Athletics.
Martin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from North Florida with a minor in communications, including a public relations emphasis.
