D3BASEBALL.COM - Wheaton College junior catcher Nick Raposo was named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-American second-team.
Raposo ended 2018 with a D3baseball.com All-New England All-Region First-Team and an All-American Second-Team honor, becoming just the 14th player in Wheaton baseball history to earn All-American honors, and the second to earn a spot on the D3baseball.com second-team. Raposo was also named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-American Second-Team, becoming the eighth player to earn the distinction.
Raposo ended 2018 ranked 10th in the nation in doubles with 18 while ranking 12th in doubles per game (0.5), 36th in hits (61), 47th in total bases (94), and 50th in batting average (.424). Raposo's batting average moved him into the Wheaton record book, ranking him fifth in single-season batting average, while his 18 doubles tie him for fourth in most in a single season.
The catcher was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First-Team while being named the New England Position Player of the Year. Raposo also earned a spot on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First-Team.
Raposo and the Lyons are set to open the 2019 season on March 2 at 12 p.m. with a contest against Western New England at Clark University.
