Men's Basketball Edges Past Bridgewater State, 94-79

  • Junior Duaka Ekwensi led the Lyons and scored a career-high 30 points. Ekwensi went 10-12 from the floor while shooting perfect from three at 3-3. He also grabbed a team-best six rebounds and shot 87.5% from the line.
  • The Lyons would have multiple contributors on the night including senior Liam Bruno who scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Ryan Fogarty snagged 5 rebounds, went 8-11 from the line, and ended the night with 13 points and 4 assists, while Riley Tetreault scored 12 points and shot 5-9 in the paint. Robby Lowey contributed from the bench scoring 10 points in a 16-minute timeframe. 
  • Junior guard David Carbonello scored 7 points on the night and would grab three rebounds and give two assists.
  • Bridgewater State opened the game strong and challenged Wheaton in the first half, outscoring them 45-37.
  • The Bears were led by sophomore guard Ryan Carney and Rocky DeAndrade. Carney scored a career-high 25 points and went 10-14 shooting while DeAndrade scored 21 points going 8-12 from the floor and 5-9 from three. 
  • Wheaton raised their intensity and came out hot in the second half. The Lyons outscored their opponent 24-9 within the first seven minutes and continued to pull away throughout the half, getting up by as many as 20 points. They ended the half 57-34 and the game at 94-79.
  • Wheaton as a whole shot 75% from the line and managed to grab 33 rebounds. With the highest-scoring game of their season, the Lyons look to continue their win streak into Thursday.
