Men's Basketball Defeats Framingham St. in Home Opener

NORTON, Mass.- The Wheaton College men's basketball team played its first game in Emerson Gymnasium Wednesday night defeating Framingham State 88-70. The Lyons move to 1-1 on the season, while Framingham St. drops to 0-5.

Wheaton was led by a team effort including a career-high 19 points from senior Robby Lowey who finished 7-of-12 from the floor and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. Freshman Alex Carlisle added 19 points shooting 3-for-3 from behind the arc, while Senior guard Alex DuBrow dished out 10 assists and added 6 points.

Framingham State was led by Dominique Jenkins-Maxwell with 13 points while Tajahn Joyner added 12 points.

Wheaton went on a 14-0 run early in the game to take a 19-6 lead with 12:49 remaining in the first half. The Lyons carried the momentum throughout the rest of the game extending their largest lead to 21 with 3:44 to play.
