NORTON, Mass.- The Wheaton College men's basketball team fell to No. 20 Springfield 100-76.
First-year Alex Carlisle finished with a game-high of 21 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor. Ricardo Ripley played well defensively while adding 8 points. First-year Evan Cook led the Lyons off the bench with 15 points and added 3 steals. Senior Alex DuBrow led the Lyons on the glass with 6 rebounds. Wheaton had a 38-28 advantage in the paint.
The Pride scored the first bucket of the game on a Jake Ross made lay-up. Shortly after Carlisle tied the game after a made jumper. The Lyons took the lead at 5-2 when first-year Noah Sochaczevski nailed a three-pointer. Springfield then went on a 12-0 run that was ended by 5 straight Carlisle points. Although Wheaton shot a strong 50.8% from the floor, the No. 22 Pride were too much as they left Norton with the 100-76 victory.
