THE RUNDOWN:  

  • Wheaton juniors Josh Talanian and Alex Stomberg both recorded hat-tricks for the Lyons. Victor Moitinho and CJ Leighton also ended the contest with goals for Wheaton. 
  • Salve Regina was led by six goals from Pat Leary, who also picked up an assist in the win. 
  • James Holston led all players with three caused turnovers, while Troy Sliney led the field with seven ground balls. 
  • Wheaton led throughout the first half, capturing the lead out of the gate with Stomberg's first goal of the game at the 11:18 mark. Wheaton ended up netting three more goals in the quarter, before scoring three more in the second quarter, taking a 7-5 lead into intermission. 
  • Talanian tacked on a goal in the third quarter, which was followed by back-to-back goals from the Seahawks. Trailing by one goal, Salve Regina managed to score six unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to pick up the win. 
  • Joey Mitchell and Chandler Miller split time in goal with Miller coming up with nine saves in the loss, while Mitchell made five. Matt D'Amore made 14 saves for Salve.
