BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Kevin Davis, junior Amara Sesay and first-year Roni Diniz have earned 2016 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First Team All-Conference accolades for their work during the Wheaton College men's soccer team's 2016 season. Diniz has also been honored as NEWMAC Rookie of the Year.
Davis collects his third All-Conference honor during his time at Wheaton. He ends his four-year career competing in 84 games for the Lyons while registering 11 goals, eight assists for 18 points with a .427 shot on goal percentage as a midfielder and defender. This season alone he tallied seven goals and four assists, including two game-winning goals as a team captain.
Sesay earns his second All-Conference nod as a forward for the Lyons. He has recorded 21 goals and 12 assists so far in his three years at Wheaton for 54 points. This season he dished out 10 goals, five assists for 25 points while maintaining a .385 shots on goal percentage. He currently is ranked in the NEWMAC this year in goals (third), assists (third), points (third) and shots (second).
Diniz earns the first Rookie of the Year honor for the Lyons since 2011. He ended the season leading the team in goals (15), assists (5) and points (35). Diniz is also leaving his mark in the NEWMAC statistics ranked second in goals, three in assists, second in points and first in shots.
The Lyons wrapped up the 2016 season 12-7-2 overall and 3-2-2 in conference competition, advancing to the NEWMAC Championship round.
