Men's Swimming & Diving Solid in Relays at NEWMAC Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Wheaton College men's swimming and diving team opened the 2019-20 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships Thursday evening with one event, before returning to the pool Friday. 

On Thursday, the Lyons 800 frees relay team of William GarneauEthan BosworthColton Parkinson, and Daniel Roch took home sixth place with a time of 6:57.30. 

Friday saw several solid swims which included Bosworth and Roch returning to action along with Cameron LeBree and Richard Matthews who finished fifth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:23.68. 

Matthews put in a strong performance in the 200 individual medley, finishing in eighth place after touching in 1:54.31. 

The 400 medley relay team featured Bosworth, Matthews, Lebree, and Roch with the group finishing in sixth place with a finals time of 3:27.11. 

With two days down and two to go, the Lyons are sitting in sixth place with 188 points. 

The team returns to action Saturday for morning prelims, followed by finals later in the evening.
