Men's Tennis Falls to #32 Rochester 6-3

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • The Wheaton College men's tennis team battled the 32nd ranked team in the country Tuesday evening, falling to the University of Rochester 6-3 the second match of the Lyons California trip.
  • Down 2-0 in doubles, the Lyons picked up a win in the No. 2 spot with Jorge Aguirre Martinez and Jeremiah Ryser battling until the end to pull out an 8-7 (4) victory. 
  • Zach Strempel earned Wheaton's first singles point, making it a 3-2 match, after defeating Peter Huang 6-3, 6-4 as the No. 6. 
  • Wheaton's final point of the contest came from David Hernaez Sanz in the No. 4 spot with the first-year earning a 6-2, 6-4 win over Tanmay Thakkar.   

UP NEXT: Wheaton returns to action on Thursday, March 14 against Haverford in California for a 3 p.m. (EST) contest.
