Javier Esteban de Celis and Ian Tracy Represent Men's Tennis in NEWMAC All-Conference Awards

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The Wheaton College men's tennis team had one doubles team represented on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's tennis All-Conference team. The Lyons' team of sophomore Javier Esteban de Celis and first-year Ian Tracy picked up their first honor after an impressive season in the No. 1 spot.

In conference play, Esteban de Celis and Tracy finished the season with a 3-3 record which included wins over Springfield, Clark, and Coast Guard. In the NEWMAC quarterfinals, the pair helped Wheaton pick up a 5-0 win over Clark after taking down the Cougars' top team 8-7. 

As a team, the Lyons finished the season with a 10-9 overall record and 3-3 NEWMAC record. Wheaton advanced to the semifinals of the NEWMAC Tournament for the second consecutive season, defeating Clark before falling to MIT.
