Richard, Green both place inside the top-10 in the 5k
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Wheaton College men's track and field team participated at the Brown University Invitational non-scoring meet on Saturday afternoon at Brown Stadium.
In the 5,000-meter run, senior Michael Richard (Chicopee, Mass./Holyoke Catholic) placed ninth overall with a time of 15:59.24 just ahead of sophomore John Green (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) who finished tenth overall (16:02.82).
Freshman Alexei Spinu (New Cannon, Mass./New Cannon) ranked 20th overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.40. Sophomore Nathan Sheridan (Albuquerque, N.M./Desert Academy) came in 44th place overall in 2:04.96 and classmate Harry Bachrach (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Beaver Country Day) checked in at 47th overall (2:05.37). Bachrach also finished 38th overall in the one mile run with a time of 4:34.55.
Sophomore Ben Sharma (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) ranked 16th overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.95.
Senior Sam Fear (Bath, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) tied for sixth in the high jump clearing a height of 6-feet and 0.75-inches.
In the 100-meter dash, freshman Sam Miklovich (Gray New Gloucester, Maine/Gray New Gloucester) finished 23rd overall in 11.96-seconds. Miklovich also clocked a time of 24.23-seconds in the 200-meter dash for a 28th place performance.
Spinu, Miklovich, Sheridan and Fear teamed up for ninth overall in the 4x400-meter run with a combined time of 3:32.23.
Junior Logan Hinderliter (Allegheny, Pa./Allegheny) posted a mark of 107-feet and 6-inches in the shot put for 22nd overall.
Wheaton participates in the Eric Loeshner Meet, hosted by Fitchburg State University, on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m.
