Men’s Track & Field Host Wheaton Invitational

NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College men's track & field team hosted Colby College, Bridgewater State and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) team Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) on Saturday in its first indoor home meet since 2013.

It was off to the races for senior Sam Miklovich and sophomore Braden Marstaller when they earned a first and third place finish in the 400m dash to kick things off with final times of 52.12 and 59.64. 

Senior Alexei Spinu then clutched first place in the 800-meter run when he timed in at 2:00.58. Sophomore Eric Kogan placed third overall in the one-mile run with a 5:01.95 final time. Junior Brendan Sullivan claimed second place in the 60m hurdles when we finished at 9.39. He went on to place seventh in the long jump at 5.33m. 

Later in the field events for shot put, junior David Nega finished at 9.89m, senior James O'Loughlin at 7.48m and senior Joe Verran at 7.22m. 

Wheaton competes again on Friday when they travel to the Armory Track Invitational.
