Men's Track & Field Wraps Up Regular Season at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. - The Wheaton College men's track & field team concluded the 2017 outdoor regular season on Saturday at the Trinity Invitational with top finishes throughout the meet.

Senior Brendan Sullivan led the way for the Lyons in the 110-meter hurdles with a strong fifth place finish at 16.68, beating his preliminaries time set earlier in the day. Sullivan also earned sixth place in the high jump with a 1.74m final.

Sullivan, junior Raymond Bortolot, sophomore Bobby Pedersen and junior Jonathan Dunnett crushed the 4x100-meter relay with a second place finish, clocking in at 46.06 for the Lyons.

In distance, first-year Luke Thombs guided the Lyons in the 5,000-meter run while first-year Alex Domagalski timed in first for Wheaton in the 1,500-meter run.

Pedersen later went on to lead Wheaton in the high jump (sixth), javelin (seventh) and long jump (ninth) to wrap up field events for the Lyons.

Wheaton competes in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships, hosted at MIT next Saturday to begin postseason competition.
